Calcium stearate is a white and nontoxic solid, insoluble in most solvents and slightly soluble in hot aromatic solvents, chlorinated hydrocarbons, vegetable oil, mineral oil, etc. It dehydrates and starts to soften at temperatures between 120℃ and 130 ℃, and takes a viscous consistency at approx. 160 ℃, and decomposes when the temperature is higher than 400℃. In case of strong acid, it is decomposed into fatty acid and corresponding salt. Calcium stearate is mainly used as heat stabilizer of PVC, lubricant of various plastics processing, release agent, etc.
Zinc stearate is a white and nontoxic solid, insoluble in most solvents, slightly soluble in hot aromatic solvents, chlorinated hydrocarbons, vegetable oil, mineral oil, etc. The melting point is about 120 ℃. After melting, it is a liquid with small viscosity. Zinc stearate are mainly used in the plastics and rubber industries as non-toxic heat stabilizer, lubricant, dispersant, mould releasing agent. Zinc stearate show excellent
